Taiwan’s leading exhibitions organising company, Chan Chao International Enterprise Group, is proud to have been central in organising for Taiwanese companies to participate in local and international trade shows. The firm, which is based in Taipei, is an organiser and authorised agent of various trade shows in Taiwan and abroad.
One of its major tasks this year was facilitating several Taiwanese companies’ participation in showcasing their goods and enhancing their business profiles at the Propak Africa 2025 Expo, which took place at the Nasrec Johannesburg Expo Centre, South Africa, from 11 to 14 March 2025. The show is Africa’s definitive packaging, printing, food processing, plastics, and labelling trade exhibition.
Propak Africa 2025 attracted thousands of industry decision-makers with purchasing power and influence. At least 88% of visitors are decision-makers or influencers in buying decisions. It offers an opportunity for networking, and it’s where buyers, sellers, investors and potential clients meet and talk business. Consistent and reliable buyers are essential, and that itself demands competitiveness in product quality and prices from the exhibitors and industrialists. The show became a special occasion, with at least seven Taiwan companies showcasing their various machinery and wares to the African market.
Chan Chao International specialises in exhibitions in Taiwan and abroad and is one of the largest expo organising companies in Taiwan. Expos help to expose Taiwanese and other countries’ industries to potential markets abroad. It is where various outlets from the island can market their goods and services to potential buyers, investors, and foreign organisations and ventures looking for the latest technological advancements to enhance, diversify, and mechanise their operations.
Expos are not only channels for selling merchandise but are also the first line of investment, deal-making, and creation of business partnerships among manufacturers and marketers from different countries. The more expos a business venture attends, the more exposure to external markets. According to the local organisers of the event, “meeting the right people is where an exhibition delivers its true value.”
Chan Chao International’s overseas department sales representative, Alex Tan, whom we caught while mingling with the Taiwanese exhibitors in their various stalls, was upbeat about the company’s role in the exhibition. “Driven by a broad vision and a strong dedication to industry advancement at all levels, our core focus lies in organising large-scale trade and consumer exhibitions.
Chan Chao International works alongside local governments and associations to organise world-class events and to cultivate professional talent. “We have many expos, ranging from self-organised shows to agent exhibitions. In addition, we do many different industries, such as textile and garment shows, plastics packaging, automotive, woodworking, and machine tools,” Alex said.
According to Alex, Chan Chao International organises and is the authorised agent for countless domestic and international exhibitions. It also publishes a trade show magazine, manages a cloud-based online exhibition network, and is actively developing a comprehensive marketing system for trade shows. The company’s exhibition series, launched in 2016, covers all facets of smart manufacturing and the Fourth Industrial Revolution. It includes sector-specific exhibitions and programmes within the capital, Taipei, including even the Chan Chao Pets Show. Much of its work centres around the Asian region, including Taiwan and then spreads to far-flung places abroad, covering 47 countries in total. The activities keep the group busy all year round.
With such an extensive international footprint, Chan Chao International has to spread its tentacles widely and work closely with partners to extend its reach and achieve the goal of bringing Taiwan trade and products to local and international markets. Within the group, there is much co-operation and coordination that comes with organising any exhibition or trade show.
The Chan Chao comprises six companies: Chan Chao International Co Ltd, established in 1985, Material Handling and Logistics, SLP Fairs &Exhibitions, Inforchain Digital Technology Co., Ltd., Yorkers Trade & Marketing Service Co., Ltd, and GIE Information Corporation. These firms handle sectoral functions pertaining to exhibitions, trade shows, logistics, consultancy, and publishing material such as trade show magazines, CDs, and print advertising. Five of the six subsidiaries are in Taiwan, one in Hong Kong, and branches in Shanghai and Saigon.
“Our self-organised exhibitions are mainly in Vietnam, Bangladesh and Cambodia and Vietnam and Bangladesh are the biggest hosts of our company,” Alex said.
According to the Meet Taiwan publication, the International Trade Administration under the Ministry of Economic Affairs is continuously working to propel Taiwan’s exhibition and convention industry and position Taiwan as a premier global destination for such events. Exhibitions and related MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conventions, and Exhibitions) events contribute significantly to the Taiwanese economy, with a total economic impact estimated at over US$51 billion per year. This industry also draws over 320,000 international business event delegates and hosts over 700 international business events annually. – @NewsSA_Online
