Babes, let’s talk about it  – because this right here? This is not just a pageant plot twist. This is a power move. The Motsepe Group, yes hun, the billion-rand empire of Patrice Motsepe and Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe, has officially acquired the Miss South Africa Organisation, and I’m telling you now: the game has changed forever.

And guess what? Miss SA 2025 has been postponed  – not because of chaos, but because they’re cooking something major. Like, haute couture, legacy-building, empire-shaping major. And if you ask me? It’s the kind of upgrade we’ve been waiting for.

The crown is in good hands

Let’s be real – the Motsepes don’t play small. This is the family that’s not only built a legacy in mining and football, but also turned Africa Fashion International (AFI) into one of the most respected fashion platforms on the continent. AFI has been running Cape Town and Johannesburg Fashion Weeks like a well-oiled runway machine, putting African designers on the global map.

Now they’re bringing that same fire, finesse, and vision to Miss SA? We’re talking next-level pageantry. Think less tiaras and more TED Talks. Less glitz for show and more glow with purpose. I stan!

The makeover we deserve

Former CEO Stephanie Weil stepped down, and yes, we appreciate her contribution – but now, it’s time for a bold reset. And honestly? This isn’t just a new chapter. It’s a rebrand for the history books.

“We’re turning the pageant into a platform for purpose, culture, fashion, and fierce leadership,” insiders say. And trust, with the Motsepes leading the charge? They mean it.

This new Miss SA is about women who change the world, not just walk a stage. Women who own businesses, speak their truth, represent Mzansi with fire, and still serve face in a designer gown.

Miss Universe? We are still coming!

Now, tea time. Miss Universe 2025 is in Thailand this November, and no, we don’t know yet who’s going to represent SA – but let’s not panic. Whether they appoint a queen or surprise us with a revamped mini-pageant, I have full faith they’ll send someone who slays from head to heel and carries a message of impact.

Even if we’re quiet now? We’re about to make noise on that global stage = louder and bolder than ever before.

Zee’s crown-worthy conclusion

This is not the end of Miss SA. This is the elevation of Miss SA. And babes, I’m here for every second of it.

Under the Motsepe Group and AFI, Miss SA is no longer just a pageant – it’s a cultural institution, a fashion movement, and a launchpad for young South African women to shake the world.

So yes, the pageant’s postponed. But don’t sleep on it. The crown isn’t gathering dust – it’s being polished for something iconic.

Mark my words: when it returns, Miss SA will not just be back – she’ll be unstoppable. – @NewsSA_Online
