Darling, when Vaseline personally slides into your life with a shiny invite, you don’t RSVP – you just show up glowing. And show up we did, at Pere House in Kyalami, where Londeka Malondie turned fashion into a full-on cultural spectacle (and a bit of a circus, but we’ll get to that).
The show opened with a Zulu dance sequence – a feast for the eyes – before Malondie flexed her creativity with four collections. The Sigege-inspired line gave heritage its moment, the “Fruits of Where We Come From” served colourful holiday realness, the Vaseline Collection reminded us why every household has that blue jar, and the black-and-white finale was for the corporate girlies who secretly want to be fashion killers at the office.
Now, let’s talk sponsors. Aperol Spritz had two open bars – and honestly, some guests treated it like a bottomless brunch. The Cera Glow tent was pure chaos in the best way: free hand massages, selfies on selfies, and promoters working harder than the ushers (who were too busy gossiping at the door to help anyone). Oh, and parking? Let’s just say if you didn’t pray before, you definitely prayed after.
The guest list was just as shiny. Thula Sindi kept it cool in VIP, Ayanda Ncwane swanned in looking like she owned the place while cheering for her brother Phupho Gumede K, and Anele Zondo gave us a performance hotter than the afternoon sun -with L-Tido beaming like a groupie in love. Cute.
And yes, I Zee’d it with my own eyes: the self-crowned gossip and events queen floated through, all snob and sparkle, making sure everyone knew she had arrived. If she didn’t clock you? Sorry, babes, you didn’t matter.
Sure, the show was two hours late and half of us nearly fought for parking, but in Joburg, chaos + cocktails + couture = iconic. And honestly, with a Vaseline invite in hand, who even cares? Glow first, complain later. – @NewsSA_Online
