A suspected vutha burned three classrooms comprising, comprising two Grade 2 classrooms and one Grade 6 classroom, at Maboloka Primary School in Bloemfontein.
Teachers and Pupils were surprised by how three separated class-rooms caught fire. It is still a mystery how the evil fire destroyed school furniture.
A parent had a dream about fire
One of the parents, who is a guardian of a child at the school, Lerato Pule, rushed to the school to help extinguish the fire. She was surprised, on her arrival, to see the burnt school building.
“I rushed to the school after hearing a circulating voice note on social media about the fire at the school. Strangely, the night before, I dreamed of fire burning somewhere and I thought maybe I was going to burn in hell, but actually it was my nephew’s school that was going to burn,” said Pule.
Vutha superstition engulfs the community
The suspicion of Vutha is still at the superstitious parents’ lips as they associate Bloemfontein’s hot weather with a sign of Vutha. In African superstitious culture, euthanasia is fire that burns on its own without being ignited by a human being and is associated with witchcraft.
Hot weather or hell?
Mpho Mokoena said she has also been thinking of this hot weather as a sign of hell. “You know, lately I have been questioning myself about this hot weather. I also think maybe as South Africans we are under Vutha attack every day it’s hot,” she said.
The police are investigating the cause
Education spokesperson Howard Ndaba said the police were on the scene to do further investigation and no injuries have been reported. “Currently, we can’t disclose the cause of the fire as the police are still busy with investigations,” he said. – @NewsSA_Online
