Siwelele FC have confirmed that discussions are at an advanced stage regarding the potential sale of exciting young attacker, Siviwe Magidigidi, to Belgian First Division B side K. Beerschot V.A.
The confirmation was made by Siwelele FC CEO Lerato Kholoanyane, who revealed that talks between the two clubs have progressed positively, although the deal has not yet been finalised.
Interest Sparked Late Last Year
According to Kholoanyane, Beerschot initially approached Siwelele late last year with an offer that the club felt did not reflect Magidigidi’s true value or his importance to the team.
“At the time, we believed Siviwe still had a lot to give to Siwelele,” said Kholoanyane. “Both on the pitch and in terms of the impact he could make in our project.” However, continued discussions between the clubs opened the door for a possible breakthrough.
Player’s Ambition Plays a Key Role
As negotiations continued, it became clear that Magidigidi was eager to test himself at the international level and begin a new chapter in his career abroad.
Siwelele, known for backing player development, viewed the move as an opportunity to balance ambition with growth. “We have always believed in matching ambition with opportunity,” Kholoanyane said.
Improved Offer Changes the Picture
The Belgian club later returned with a significantly improved offer, more than doubling their initial proposal. This shift made the potential transfer more acceptable and aligned with Siwelele FC’s long-term interests.
“With the improved offer, the deal became something we could seriously consider,” she said. While final details are still being discussed, both parties are now working towards concluding the negotiations.
A Player Who Helped Build Siwelele
Magidigidi, at just 20 years old, has become a fan favourite and a key figure in Siwelele’s maiden campaign. The club acknowledged the strong emotional bond between the player and the supporters.“He will forever be part of our story,” said Kholoanyane. “He was a foundational player who helped set standards both on the field and in the dressing room.”
Europe Awaits a Special Talent
Siwelele FC expressed full confidence in Magididigi’s ability to succeed in Europe, predicting that Belgian defenders will soon experience the same problems he caused across the PSL. The club remains proud of the young star’s journey and grateful for his contribution.

If the transfer is completed, Magididigi will leave Bloemfontein with the club’s full blessing. “He will carry Siwelele’s spirit with him,” Kholoanyane concluded. “And he will always have a home here,” she added. – @NewsSA_Online
