If you thought the streets of Pretoria were the only place where the Crazy Entertainers could cause chaos, think again! Recently, the madness moved from Church Square and Rustenburg’s Midtown Mall straight to the big screen at Mall of Africa Ster-Kinekor – and honey, they did NOT come to play!
The much-anticipated premiere of Crazy Heist was nothing short of a blissful, star-studded affair. For years, many of us have watched these talented entertainers serving comedy on the streets, at churches, malls and wherever there is an audience willing to laugh.
And honestly? The entertainment industry has been sleeping on these guys!
These are not just comedians. They are actors, MCs, entertainers and professional troublemakers – the funny kind!
FROM A BLUE SHACK TO THE BIG SCREEN!
Who could forget the legendary “History Video”, filmed at Sgandaf near Soshanguve in a humble blue shack?
That little video became something of a launchpad for the Crazy Entertainers.
There was Ntate Modiri, giving us his hilarious impersonation of a talkative elderly man; Senzeni, the stubborn child who clearly did not receive the memo about respecting elders; Pastor A, the flashy pastor who famously claimed to be the only pastor with a BMW – Bokonout, Mabopane and Winterveld!
Then there was Mpephe, bringing his impersonation of the late legendary Mshefani, famously known as Somizi Mhlongo’s father.
From a blue shack to a cinema screen?
That is called growth, darling!
ZEE WALKS INTO THE PREMIERE…
When yours truly arrived at the cinema, things were already looking suspiciously glamorous.
A beautiful lady was stationed at the entrance, checking names on her laptop to make sure everyone had RSVP’d. Naturally, I behaved myself.
There were celebrity greetings, welcoming photographs and enough popcorn to make me forget that I was supposed to be reviewing a movie.
And because Johannesburg traffic apparently also wanted to attend the premiere, guests trickled in as the evening progressed.
Inside the cinema, the celebrity spotting continued.
Among the familiar faces was Mafatshe and Rantomeng, who many will remember from Generations as Thomas Mashaba.
Then came Tsekeleke – or, as he hilariously describes himself, “Sdudla sao bina too much.”
Translation? A big person who dances A LOT.
And let me tell you something: when Tsekeleke appeared on screen, the cinema nearly needed a roof repair!
The audience was screaming, laughing and cheering. That man did not simply enter the movie – he entered with a full presidential convoy!

SOSHANGUVE WAS IN THE BUILDING!
The MC for the evening was comedian Thapelo, who naturally did what comedians do best – refused to let the microphone rest.
The entertainment continued with African Roots, who performed two tracks, including the ever-popular “Takala.”
At that point, it was official:
Soshanguve had taken over Mall of Africa!
CRAZY HEIST DELIVERS
Now, I am not going to be that gossip columnist who tells you the whole movie and leaves you with nothing to watch. Absolutely not!
You need to go and watch Crazy Heist for yourself.
What I can say is that the movie brings together several comedians and entertainers, creating the kind of chaotic, unpredictable comedy that keeps audiences engaged.
And then there is Tshekedi, whose appearance as a detective was simply outstanding.
The cinema was alive throughout the screening, with laughter, cheers and those moments when an audience collectively loses its mind because a favourite comedian appears.
AWARDS? I SEE THEM COMING!
A massive shout-out to Bra Kops and the entire production team.
What stood out for me was not only the comedy but the ambition behind the project. These entertainers have taken the talent they have been showcasing on the streets and transformed it into a full cinematic production.
That deserves recognition.
If Crazy Heist continues receiving the support it deserves, don’t be surprised if we see these guys walking onto award stages in the future.
Because sometimes greatness doesn’t begin in a fancy studio.
Sometimes it begins in a blue shack in Soshanguve, with a camera, a few crazy characters and a dream.
And look at them now!
From Church Square to the big screen – these guys are no longer knocking on the entertainment industry’s door.
THEY HAVE KICKED IT OPEN!
ZEE’S VERDICT:
Crazy Heist gets the Zee stamp of approval: 4/5
Funny? Yes
