NewsSA and its Brilliant Two Journalists Celebrate Nominations for Prestigious Awards Acknowledging their Great Work

By NewsSA Editor-in-Chief:

The new kid on the block in the online news stakes in the form of this Johannesburg-based news outlet, News SA, along with its talented young journalists, Katlego Rammusa who is based in Pretoria and Rorisang Rampheteng, from Bloemfontein in the Free State, have been nominated for prestigious awards as Best Journalist of the Year in separate awards events. NewsSA has been nominated inthe category of the Best Online Publication of the Year at the 2026 North West Media Awards scheduled to take place at Sun City on 10th December.

Launched only early last year with no staff but only a passion for news and storytelling,  News South Africa, or NewsSA, as it is popularly known, bucked the trend of emerging common online media by opting to report incisive news profiles of celebrities, business individuals and political figures, among others. It soon emerged as a leading thought-leader platform for political opinions, analyses, international and geopolitical issues by experts in their fields of expertise.

Within no time, it was joined voluntarily by individuals with a passion for entertainment, lifestyle, and a spice of gossip from the halls of fame. They came to strengthen music and theatre and brought to our pages well-crafted sports news and analysis cutting across sporting codes, mostly with a particular slant towards soccer in addition to general and breaking news. This news magazine is available online on www.newssa.co.za, and it’s worth visiting here and on social media platforms.

For both Katlego Rammusa, our passionate author and writer on entertainment and music with his special passion for the Motswako genre, and Rorisang Rampheteng, a young student from the University of the Free State with a burning passion to report on professional football and general news from his hometown, their nominations mark a special moment in their careers and their journey through the challenging modern journalism, where news travels rapidly like wide fire. We are proud of them. They both understand that, as in Hollywood, where a mere nomination for an Oscar or a Grammy in Los Angeles not only enriches your artistic CV but makes you an instant celebrity of world acclaim. In the film and music honours, you still maintain the nominee title even if you don’t win the final – that’s the spirit they have adopted.\

NOMINEE: Multi-talented Katlego Rammusa, a NewsSA journalist, is a literary genius with growing passion journalism.
