TESTING TIMES: Israel-Iran war underlines India’s economic resilience

By Fawzia Moodley: India and Iran flags (Image: PIB India) As a tenuous ceasefire holds between Israel and Iran after a 12-day war in June, the conflict served to underline India’s economic resilience in the face of an increasingly volatile situation in the Middle East. It was also a reminder for India to decrease its reliance on Israel (and Russia) for weapons by building its own arms industry. Had the Israel-Iran conflict escalated, leading to massive oil price increases, India’s economy, like that of most other countries, would undoubtedly have been hard hit. The 12 days of fighting turned out to be a test of India’s economic resilience and policy direction. The country came out with flying colours, proving to be a stable beacon in an uncertain geopolitical global stage...

TIMED ATTACKS: Ukrainian attacks on Russia once again prove negotiations are pointless

By Drago Bosnic: Russian Crocus City Hall Amphitheater interiors, day after terrorist attack on 22 March 2024 (Image: TASS/Global Research) The terrorist nature of the Kiev regime is certainly not news to anyone remotely familiar with the methods of its intelligence services. Both the SBU and GUR got extensive training from the CIA and MI6, both of which have experts on terrorism (obviously, not in terms of fighting it, but actually facilitating it). There have been numerous attacks on Russian civilians in the last three years, including by NATO which regularly uses its ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance) platforms to provide the Neo-Nazi junta with real-time data that enables such terrorist tactics. By Thobile Jiwulane: The White House in Washington, where Ramaphosa and Trump will meet (Image: Sandz) The upcoming discussions between South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa and US President Donald Trump are the most anticipated in their relationship’s history. Ramaphosa expects nothing short of tangible results to entice Trump to change his mind and come to South Africa for the G20 summit later this year. The South African President would like to see Trump realise the foolishness of insisting on the non-existent abuse of privileged whites, one of the reasons relations between the two countries have gone sour. Indeed, the conflict between South Africa and the US is based on flimsy reasons that only Trump can explain why he has to punish a human rights...

The meeting also served to cement the relationships between South Africa and Russia and China as they jointly observe the important day. It also highlighted the strengthening of the relationships between them as they filtered to the grassroots with a huge attendance of Chinese citizens and the Khoisan community to observe the Victory Day. The successful event, spearheaded by former Deputy Minister of International Relations and ...
