On 24 February 2026, the Rustenburg Civic Centre will host the Rustenburg Career Expo 2026, a large-scale intervention expected to welcome more than 4,500 Grade 12 learners from Rustenburg and neighbouring towns. 100 unemployed youth benefit from the tyre and suspension learnership programme

By NewsSA Correspondent: HOD Dr. Steven Jonkers with beneficiaries (Image: Supplied by Department) The Northern Cape Department of Roads and Public Works (DRPW), in partnership with the Manufacturing, Engineering and Related Services Sector Education and Training Authority (merSETA), has officially launched a 12-month Tyre and Suspension Learnership Programme at the Teachers Training Centre in Kimberley. This youth development initiative will benefit 100 unemployed young people from across the Northern Cape Province, with 20 participants selected from each district.
