By Mpumzi Mshweshwe: Dr Nandipha Magudumane (Image: by X) The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) has welcomed today’s judgment of the Supreme Court of Appeal (SCA), which dismissed a deportation appeal by Dr Nandipha Magudumana. Magudumane claimed that her deportation from Tanzania was unlawful and that the police had abducted her. Magudumane appealed to the SCA, hoping for a different conclusion after Judge Phillip Loubser at the High Court in Bloemfontein ruled in June 2023 that her arrest was not unlawful. The SCA yesterday denied her appeal. Magudumana and her co-accused are facing a total of 38 counts ranging from fraud, corruption, money laundering, assisting an inmate to escape, violation of the body, arson, and defeating the ends of justice.
