GOSPEL  SPECTACULAR RETURNS: Bethusile Mcinga to debut Akwaba Ndinamandla in Mthatha

By Sitha Maliwa:

The countdown is on as the 6th Annual Gospel Spectacular is set to light up O.R. Tambo Hall on Saturday, 06 September 2025 at 6 PM. This beloved festival has become one of the Eastern Cape’s most anticipated gospel gatherings, drawing believers from across the country for a night of song, worship and unity.

This year’s line-up is overflowing with gospel powerhouses, including Dr Lusanda Mcinga, Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors, Jumbo, Mpumi Mtsweni, Thinah & Ndumiso Zungu, Vincent Mboniswa, and many more. Of course, fans are eagerly awaiting Bethusile Mcinga, who is preparing to bless the audience with something truly special.

Speaking ahead of the festival, Bethusile shared his excitement:

“All I cannot wait for that night is experiencing the move of the Holy Spirit in that venue and the powerful performances by both our legends, Dr Lusanda Mcinga and Ncandweni Christ Ambassadors. We also have artists like Mpumi Mtsweni, Jumbo, Thinah & Ndumiso Zungu, Vincent Mboniswa, and of course me. I am also very excited because by the end, 30th August, I’m releasing a new single track titled Akwaba Ndinamandla, which I will be performing for the first time on the 6th of September.”

The Gospel Spectacular has outgrown its original vision and is now looking toward bigger horizons. “It’s already an annual event; we are now doing it for the 6th time. But the bigger plan is to move it to Mthatha Stadium because the hall is becoming too small to host it. People fly from all over the country to support this event, but others usually get disappointed due to limited capacity as we close tickets early,” Bethusile explained.

But the night is not only about music; it’s about worship that breaks chains, songs that restore hope, and motivation that uplifts souls. As Bethusile puts it:

“Worship that breaks all the chains, hope restored by songs, motivation from our Abongile Mangala, and a good time in the presence of the Lord.”

The event also carries a humanitarian call. Everyone attending is encouraged to bring donations to assist families who lost their homes during the recent floods. Items may include clothes, blankets, stoves, pots, groceries, hygiene packs, school shoes for children, stationery, or anything useful in good condition. “It doesn’t have to be new, but in good condition, that would make a difference to those people,” organisers emphasised.

Guided by charismatic MCs Abongile Mangala, Abongile Nyondo (UCK FM), and Selathe (100), the night is expected to be one of worship, generosity and transformation.

With pre-sold tickets already in high demand (R200 General / R400 VIP), and space at the hall limited, attendees are encouraged to secure theirs early.

The Gospel Spectacular is not just a concert  – it’s a divine encounter where faith meets action, music meets healing, and a community comes together to restore both hearts and homes.  @NewsSA_Online.
