BOOK REVIEW: There is more to life than what you are – discover your purpose, which is what you will ultimately become

By Katlego Rammusa:

Many people live on planet earth and die without even discovering their purpose in life, having questions like: Where am I from? Why am I here? Where am I going? Why was I born male, not female? Why was I born black, not white? Well, there is more to life than that.

In this book, Understand the Purpose for Your Life, you will find out that you were brought into this world for a reason, with a specific purpose and unique gifts to make an impact and achieve greatness. We all have gold inside of us; sometimes it needs to be polished, and the dirt has to be removed in order for you to shine bright.

You may be a teacher, a doctor or a nurse and think that you are serving your purpose. However, you may be far from it. Mother Theresa was just a normal teacher; she could have climbed the professional ladder and become a school principal. However, she heard the cry of the suffering, and she began to feed the poor and the hungry. What did she do? She discovered her purpose in life and today she remains a world-renowned philanthropist.

The great Tata Nelson Mandela was a lawyer and a keen boxer; he could have focused on his vocations. However, he heard the cry of the suffering, so he was jailed for several years because he fought to free his people from oppression. What did he do? He discovered his purpose and fulfilled it. Today, he remains the world-renowned freedom fighter and an Icon.

Sol Kezner was an accountant and he could have just focused on his vocation. However, he had a deeper purpose of building luxury hotels around the world. One of the hotels that he built is the iconic Sun City. What was his purpose? It was to build hotels so that people can have fun and play under the sun, as the saying goes, ‘all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. Today, Mr Kezner is known around the world as the Sun King and a freedom fighter because black and white people were playing under the sun at Sun City at the height of Apartheid. What did he do? He discovered his purpose and fulfilled it.

Your purpose in life is to make a long-lasting contribution to the world. The world will remember you for what you have contributed to it, not what you have taken out of it. Discover your purpose and do not leave a thumbprint. However, you should leave a footprint, so that generations to come will know about your contributions during your lifetime; you are not a scar but a star! You are not a lemon but a lemonade, you are not a chicken but a champion!

You can discover and fulfil your purpose as well. Get connected to your source and discover your purpose. You are not just an existence; however, you are a declaration. You will illuminate your world. The book is available on the Amazon Kindle store. –@NewsSA_Online
