1. What motivated you to become a social media influencer, and what keeps you passionate about it?

Becoming an influencer just happened unexpectedly, and the more I learned about it, the more interested I became.

    2. Which social media platform do you find most effective for your content, and why?

I find Twitter to be the most effective social media platform because it’s current with all affairs, and it’s easier for me to express myself through words rather than videos.

    3. How do you engage with your followers to build a strong community around your brand?

I think consistently engaging with my followers in various ways helps a lot because we become quite close and start to understand each other to a certain extent. At this point, I treat them more like friends or cousins I would normally chat with.

    4. Can you share a specific campaign or collaboration that you’re particularly proud of?

I’m mostly proud of the Showmax collaborations I’ve worked on because I love television and enjoy their content, so it was easy for me to be part of the collaboration.

     5. What trends do you see emerging in social media, and how do you plan to adapt to them?

One trend I’ve noticed that’s on the rise is people sharing more about their personal lives and being more open about everything.

    6. How do you handle negative comments or feedback from followers?

I mostly block or ignore negative comments.

    7. What tools or strategies do you use to plan and schedule your content?

I normally do more research and draft my tweets in advance, keeping them in my drafts until the perfect time to post.

    8. How important is authenticity to you, and how do you maintain it in your posts?

Authenticity is very important to me, and I maintain it by making sure I create posts that my followers would typically expect. I think it’s important to be consistent in my style and the way I create content that feels familiar to them.

    9. Are there any influencers you admire or look up to, and what have you learned from them?

I mostly look up to TV reviewers and bloggers from America because they have a very interesting and unique way of creating posts and reporting on TV and entertainment news.

    10. What goals do you have for your social media presence in the next year?

I want to reach a bigger audience and become the number one source for entertainment and television news.

    11. Do you believe that authenticity is becoming a lost art in the influencer space, especially with the rise of overly curated content?

Yes, it is, because we don’t want to do what everyone else is doing just to attract numbers.

    12. How do you respond to critics who say that influencers promote unrealistic lifestyles and contribute to mental health issues?

I say we should stop looking up to everyone and make ourselves the center of what we aspire to achieve, because not everything we see out there is actually true.

    13. Have you ever felt pressured to compromise your values for brand deals, and how did you handle it?

I have, but I managed to put my foot down and remain in control of the situation without burning bridges.

Cancel culture is very selective. I’ve never experienced it, but I don’t think it has much impact.

    14. Social media algorithms often prioritize engagement over genuine connection. Do you think this is harmful, and how do you navigate it?

Yes, it is harmful, but I have always found a way around it.

    15.  How would you address accusations that influencers often misrepresent their sponsorships or fail to disclose partnerships properly?

To address accusations of misrepresenting sponsorships or failing to disclose partnerships, it’s important for influencers to be transparent and honest. Clear disclosures maintain trust with their audience. If accusations arise, influencers should take accountability, review their disclosure practices, and ensure they handle partnerships ethically moving forward.

    16. Do you believe that influencers have a responsibility to address social or political issues, or should they stick strictly to their niche?

I believe influencers can address social or political issues if they’re passionate about them, but they should also stay true to their niche. It’s about balancing personal beliefs with audience interests.

    17.  How do you feel about the idea that many influencers are simply ‘selling out’ by partnering with brands that don’t align with their personal brand?

I believe influencers should partner with brands that align with their values. If they promote something that doesn’t match their identity, it can feel like “selling out” and hurt their credibility.

    18. What do you think about the growing trend of influencers using bots or other manipulative tactics to inflate their follower count?

Using bots or manipulative tactics to inflate follower counts harms authenticity and trust. Organic growth is key to maintaining credibility and long-term success.

    19. Do you think that the influencer industry is perpetuating consumerism, and how do you reconcile that with your content creation? Yes, the influencer industry can promote consumerism, but I balance it by creating authentic content that aligns with my values and avoids over-commercialisation. – @NewsSA_Online
