This past weekend, the City of Gold’s glitterati – boardroom royalty, fashionistas, and of course, yours truly, Zee – traded spreadsheets and sports cars for sequins, florals, and flutes of fizz as JC Le Roux transformed the Inanda Polo Club into a playground of pétillance and prestige.
The occasion? Only the Johannesburg Cap Classique, Champagne & Bubbles Festival 2025 = undoubtedly the sparkling highlight of the social calendar. And who stole the spotlight with all the pop, fizz, and flair? None other than JC Le Roux, South Africa’s OG sparkle queen.
Trust me, this wasn’t just a tasting – it was a whole statement.
From the moment I stepped onto the carpet (yes, there was one), I was wrapped – literally – in a sentimental ribbon whispering affirmations like “Toast to resilience” and “Celebrate everything.” And celebrate we did.
Think Scintilla in every glass, slow-motion Sparkle Mirror selfies (I looked divine in 4K, thank you very much), and floral lounges that felt like stepping into a Coppola fantasy-champagne in hand, dancers twirling, the works.
Even the glassware had attitude: sleek, weighty, and camera-ready. The “Art of the Pour” masterclass? Life-changing. I’ll never open a bottle the same way again—and neither will the stylish stranger next to me who now follows me on Insta.
But let’s be honest: JC Le Roux didn’t just sponsor the festival – they owned it.
Every pop and pour reminded us of their golden rule:
“Every moment deserves bubbles.”
And if this weekend proved anything, it’s that every moment deserves JC Le Roux—and maybe a little bit of Zee, too.
PS: Extend the complimentary bubble tasting hours next time, please. Six hours minimum. We came to sparkle, not sprint. Oh, and the goodie bag? Perfection.
