Central University of Technology (CUT) have advanced to the Nedbank Cup preliminary-round final after edging FC Spartans 2–1 in a closely contested encounter.
CUT took control of the match early and went into the half-time break with a 1–0 advantage. They extended their lead after the interval before Spartans pulled one back, but CUT held on to claim the victory.

The result sees CUT secure their place in the final, where they will face either Mangaung City or Mangaung Unite.
Mangaung City and Mangaung Unite are currently contesting the second preliminary-round fixture, with the winner earning a place in the final against CUT.
The final is scheduled for 15:00 at CUT Stadium, where CUT will now await the outcome of the second semi-final to learn their opponent.- @NewsSA_Online
